Emergency Contacts

In cases of injury to a child, the Headteacher will decide if it is necessary that the parents be informed immediately. All parents are asked to provide the school with the following information and keep it up to date:-

a)    Your home telephone number

b)    A telephone number at which a parent may be contacted in an emergency

c)     Your Doctor’s telephone number and address

d)    Name and ages of other children in the family

e)    Please give any information regarding the health of your child which we need to know (e.g. epilepsy, allergy to any substances or any illness which may necessitate immediate medical attention).

School Uniform

The school has a uniform, which the school Governors strongly recommend is worn by all children.

  •  White tailored shirt.

  •  The school tie is dark blue with narrow red and yellow diagonal stripes.

  •  Tailored school trousers, skirt or pinafore in mid grey.

  •  The V-neck sweatshirt or sweatshirt cardigan is navy blue.

  •  If a summer dress is worn, it should be in French navy gingham.

  •  If a blazer is worn it should be navy blue.

  •  Girls white socks or navy tights.

  •  Boys grey socks

  •  Boys and girls dark shoes

It is very important that children are as independent as possible, so please take into account children’s abilities to fasten shoes and clothing when selecting uniform.

The school tie, reading bag and P.E. bag are obtainable from the School Office and all other items can be bought locally.

Sweatshirts and cardigans embroidered with the school name may be ordered through the school.

Please mark all your children's clothes with the child's full name.

Essential Equipment

Each child should have the following items with them on each school day:

A shoe bag

Plimsolls

Navy P.E. shorts and a white top

Jewellery

The attention of parents is drawn to the rule of the school concerning the wearing of jewellery. Because of the danger involved when children are taking part in Physical Education lessons, from items of jewellery being caught in ropes or other children's hair, parents are asked not to send children to school with jewellery. Small stud earrings may be worn for some four to six weeks after piercing without being removed, but no longer – because of Health & Safety requirements they will be covered by paper tape during the school day. Children may wear a watch but the school does not accept any responsibility for this. Parents need to be advised that a watch has to be removed whilst the child is doing P.E.

School Meals

School lunches are cooked on the premises. They are provided at a cost of £2.00 per lunch, £10.00 per week. This will be collected by the class teacher on the first morning of the week only. Application forms for Free Meals are available from the School Office, or from the Area Education Office.

There are two lunch sittings, which are supervised by our two lunchtime assistants. The children are given a set table for the year. We try to place families together wherever possible. Play assistants supervise the outdoor or indoor play activities.

Pupils who wish to have sandwiches at lunchtime, will have a place at a table in the hall. Cups and water are provided.

Playtime Snacks

Children may bring fruit from home to eat at playtime. There are also healthy snacks available for purchase from the kitchen at playtime.
